カレンダー・ポスター・コマーシャルなどの広告や雑誌・写真集の撮影を中心にフリーのフォトグラファーとして活動。世界の辺境を訪ねるTV番組の取材をきっかけに、以後ライフワークとして中国少数民族、カナダ北極圏、カラハリ砂漠、グアテマラ、コスタリカ、ミャンマー、キューバ、ブータンなどプリミティブな環境で暮らす人々の取材を続け、シリーズ「地球の笑顔」の作品展を全国各地で開催、2013年は、日本スペイン交流400周年の年となり、支倉常長の足跡を取材し、写真展「支倉の道」を開催する。 作品集に「火のラティード」、「膳のパフォーマンス」、「地球の笑顔」シリーズ、「支倉の道」、竹下景子との共著「ハロープラスワン」、泉谷しげる写真集「百面相」、名取裕子写真集「序の舞い」、かたせ梨乃写真集「DAY FOR NIGHT」など多数。 小笠原ドキュメント映画「EDEN」監督。 「ニコン フォトコンテスト インターナショナル」、経済産業省 「今年のロボット大賞」ほか様々な分野の審査員、政府の諮問委員なども務める。

TERUO SEKIGUCHI

Sekiguchi is a freelance photographer works ranging from advertisements and magazines to photographic collections. After traveling aorund various parts of the world as a TV reporter, he continued to visit Chinies minorities, the Canadian Arctic, Kalahari Desert, Guatemara, Costa Rica, Myanmar (Burma), Cuba and Bhutan. With photographs taken during those visits he held exhibition series "Chikyu no Egao (The Earth's Little Miracles)". To mark the 400 years anniversary of Japan-Spain exchange, Sekiguchi followed Tsunenaga Hasekura's footsteps and held the photo exhibition "Hasekura no Michi (Camio de Hasekura)" in 2013. His works include "Hi-no-Latido", "Zen no Performance", "Chikyu no Egao", "Hasekura no Michi", joint collaboration with wife Keiko Takeshita on their books "Hello! Plus One" and "Welcome to Our Family", Shigeru Mizutani Photobook "Hyakumensou", Yuko Natori Photobook "Jo no Mai" and Rino Katase Photobook "Day For Night". He also directed a documentary film in Ogasawara entitled "Eden". Sekiguchi has been a member of the government's adversary committee and a panel of judges for several contests such as "Nikon Photo Contest International" and "Robot Award" by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
